Oak Lawn Farmer's Market- Wednesdays from June 2 to October 13th. 7am-1pm located at Dumke Dr & 52 Avenue.

Chicago beaches are open now until Labor Day from 11am-7pm.

Sept 4-5 Old-fashioned Country Fair @ Kline Creek Farm. Free. 10am-4pm.

Millennium Park's free events- Free concerts at noon daily. June 1-Sept 21. Free workouts from 7am-11am daily from June 5-Sept 11 Family Fun Festival begins June 9-Sept 3 from 10am-3pm daily. Grant Park Music Festival begins June 16 - August 21st. Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays. Free.

The Children's Farm will be open beginning Mar 1 every Sat & Sun from 1-4pm to check out the new babies at the farm. 4.50 admission/children under 2-free. Sept 25- Fall Festival 10am-4pm. $4 Adults/$2 Children. October weekends 10-4pm. Free admission to pick your own pumpkin. Pumpkin Playland is $7 admission (petting farm, spooky wood shed, and more). Weekdays 3-5pm Free admission to pick your own pumpkin.

Magnificent Mile Fireworks Show. Every Saturday at 6:30pm (except for July 3rd). Free. Pioneer Court, 401 Michigan Drive.

Garfield Park Conservatory- Family Make-and-Take activity is every Saturday & Sunday from 1-3pm. Free admission ($3 donations suggested). Discover the power of plants in the children's garden from 11-4pm every weekend.

Sundays Jazz Matinees @ 4pm at the Jazz Showcase. 12 & under free. Adults vary. Visit website for more information.

Art Institute of Chicago-
This summer, every Sat-Sun from 11am-3pm is the Artist's Studio. The event is free at the Ryan Education Center. Free family night every Thursday from 5-8pm. First Monday of every month is free too. Aug 21- Kaleidoscope! 10am-3pm. Classical West African Music and crafts.

Field Museum Mammoths and Mastodons on exhibit! Sue comes to life! FREE Field Museum general admission: Every second Monday. Interpretive Station Activities--Hands-on activities for kids. Check information desk for daily list of activities.

Chicago Children's Museum- Free first Sundays of every month and free Thursday nights from 5-8pm. Exhibits: Play it Safe!; Ready, Set, Move!

Chicago History Museum- Free on Mondays. Exhibits: My Chinatown; Lincoln Treasures

Chicago Botanic Garden-
Every Sat & Sun at the Vegetable/Fruit Garden are free family drop-in activities days. From 11-3pm. (Parking at the Garden is $20.)

Storytown- $5
Storytelling at its best! Actors participate in an improvised tale where kids participate in its creation. Every Saturday.
10:30am (visit site for ticket details).

The Morton Arboretum- Visit the beautiful children's garden and see the Steelroots sculptures from Tobin. Best time to visit is on discount Wednesdays $7 Adults (18–64) $6 Seniors (65+) $5 Youth (2–17)

Maxwell Street Market- Free on Sundays from 7am-3pm.  The Maxwell Street Market is an open flea market with fruits, veggies, spices and a whole variety of items being sold on the cheap. Also, it is the best place to get cheap, authentic Mexican food (fresh tortillas anyone?). Roosevelt Rd/Des Plaines.
